SPEAKER BIO
Gerardo Urias is an author, breathwork facilitator, psychedelic therapy facilitator, public speaker, and an avid lifelong traveler and adventurer, spending most of his adult life since he turned 19 in places like Europe, southeast Asia, Mexico, Central America, Cuba, and Colombia. Gerardo's recently published book, Taking Back My Mind: My Journey Out of Depression with Psilocybin Mushrooms, details his miraculous healing from severe depression with psychedelics, breathwork, cold exposure, yoga, meditation, time in nature, accessing "flow state," travel, and philosophy. In what had become an extremely debilitating downward spiral of depression after divorce, his dad's death, and major health issues, Gerardo was jolted out of this trajectory during a psilocybin infused beach walk with his brother on December 22, 2017. Ever since that day 5 years ago, Gerardo has devoted his life to helping others overcome the challenges that once almost killed him. Gerardo now works to raise awareness for "alternative" medicines" (the O.G. medicines) and therapies for overall health through writing books, filming documentaries, recording podcasts, and holding workshops, classes, and retreats. Gerardo's current projects include a documentary about his lifelong journey with plant medicine, a second book which starts off where Taking Back My Mind leaves off, including his recent 5MeO-DMT journey in Mexico, and continuing to build his "Ascension Workshops & Retreats" in California and Mexico.
