Topic: "Shamanism vs. Westernism in Healing Ceremonies: Bridging Ancient Wisdom with Modern Practices"

Description: In this insightful interview and presentation, Iván Chocrón will explore the contrasts and intersections between Shamanic traditions and Western practices in healing ceremonies. The discussion will delve into how these different worldviews approach medicine, spirituality, and the treatment of trauma. He will also talk about the importance of updating the ceremonies to the West, what gets lost when this doesn't happen and what there is to gain when it does. Iván will also examine the role of emotions and the mind-body connection in both practices, offering insights into how ancient wisdom and modern science can work together for holistic healing. The session aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these two systems can coexist and complement each other in the context of personal and collective healing.

SPEAKER BIO

Speaker: Iván Chocrón, Plant Medicine Facilitator

Iván Chocrón is a renowned public speaker and thought leader bridging the worlds of science and spirit to make healing more accessible to the modern western mind. Born and raised in Argentina, he studied Engineering in UTN Buenos Aires and taught both mathematics and chemistry.

He began his research into western psychology, healing practices, and plant medicine work, studying under both western-oriented practitioners and traditional shamans within the Amazon jungle.

He developed his own healing methodology which brings together ancient traditions and western psychology.

His passion for taking a rational, grounded approach to self-work has made healing available to the masses. He believes that spiritual growth can be made accessible to modern minds through a relatable, rather than mystical, facilitation style.

Through this unique philosophy, in the past decade Iván has garnered an ever growing community of followers across the globe spanning more than 20 countries, having served in 500+ ceremonies to over 10,000 people.
