Ventech’s Altered Horizons – The Business of Psychedelics feat. Jacob Tell

District216 had the honor of being featured at Ventech’s latest event, Altered Horizons: The Business of Psychedelics, and what a night it was! The room was buzzing with energy as business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and curious minds came together to explore the future of psychedelics in business, therapy, and advocacy.

As psychedelics continue to enter the mainstream conversation, this event highlighted the opportunities and challenges facing the industry—and District216 is proud to be at the forefront of this transformative movement.

Our Chief Dreamer, Jacob Tell, kicked off the evening with an inspiring presentation that captured the essence of District216. Jacob shared the story behind our mission to normalize and legalize psychedelic use in daily life, while also providing an update on our growth over the past two years. From our founding to now hosting 102 events, District216 has evolved into a thriving community and a hub for education, connection, and advocacy.

Jacob highlighted the benefits of our Online Membership program, which gives members exclusive access to content, events, and more. And in a particularly exciting moment, he revealed that District216 has big plans to expand beyond our home in Santa Barbara to other cities, spreading our message of cognitive liberty far and wide.

After the presentations from each of the 3 participants, the panel discussion got underway, featuring industry leaders who shared their insights into the rapidly evolving psychedelics industry:

Dr. Remi Drozd, DO FAWM, Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Lucid Therapeutics, brought a clinical perspective to the conversation. He discussed the therapeutic applications of psychedelics, focusing on the work being done in ketamine clinics and the potential for psychedelics to transform mental health treatment.

Sean Scarritt, Co-Founder of the Entheogenic Medical Research Centre, offered a deep dive into the science behind psychedelic medicine. He shared emerging research and data that underscores the efficacy of these substances in treating everything from PTSD to depression, while also highlighting the need for responsible research and public education.

Jacob Tell brought his visionary perspective to the conversation, reflecting on how psychedelics are not only reshaping wellness but also culture and business. He shared his personal transformation story, how District216 was born out of his passion for communal connection, and how psychedelics are now a vehicle for societal change.

The evening wrapped up with a lively Q&A session, where the audience posed thoughtful questions to the panelists. Topics ranged from the business opportunities in psychedelics to the legal hurdles the industry faces, and the importance of public education in destigmatizing these substances. The panelists provided invaluable insights into how the industry can responsibly and ethically move forward.

It was clear from the engagement in the room that people are eager to learn more about psychedelics and their potential, both in a clinical setting and beyond.

As we left the event, we felt inspired by the conversations and connections made. District216 remains committed to expanding our impact through events like these, as well as our ongoing District House Events and Online Membership offerings. We’re excited to continue the journey, growing our community and spreading awareness about the power of psychedelics to transform lives and industries alike.
