Dr. Michael Mantz on Enhancing Ketamine Efficacy

On a memorable evening at The District House, we were honored to host Dr. Michael Mantz from Santa Barbara Integrative Psychiatry. The event featured an engaging interview and audience Q&A session led by the insightful Hannah Jo, followed by Dr. Mantz’s powerful presentation on "Ketamine Plus: Tools That Can Enhance The Efficacy of Ketamine."

Dr. Michael Mantz, a board-certified physician in Psychiatry & Neurology, brought his extensive knowledge and experience to the forefront. Dr. Mantz’s journey began with his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2009, followed by a master's degree in Herbal Medicine. His path in integrative and functional medicine was shaped by additional mentorship and training, making him a leading figure in his field.

During his psychiatric residency at UC Irvine, Dr. Mantz delved deep into psychodynamics, clinical hypnosis, and mindfulness-based psychotherapies. In 2015, he and his wife, Dr. Kim Le, established Santa Barbara Integrative Psychiatry, where they have been making significant strides in mental health treatment.

In 2019, after completing a six-month apprenticeship with Dr. Jeffrey Becker, a pioneer in ketamine for psychiatric conditions, Dr. Mantz and his wife began offering Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Their practice focuses on integrating psychiatric medicine, neuroscience, and psychotherapy with ancient healing traditions to optimize brain function and overall well-being.

As a member of the expert faculty panel for the American Society for Ketamine Physicians, Dr. Mantz is dedicated to educating both professionals and the public about the benefits and risks of ketamine therapy. His presentation at District216 was a testament to his commitment to advancing mental health treatment.
