Sacred Fire Ceremony with Dr. Tom Pinkson

On a cool, star-lit evening, 45 individuals came together at District216 for a truly transformative experience: the Sacred Fire Ceremony led by the renowned Dr. Tom Pinkson, Ph.D. This wasn’t just an event—it was a journey into the depths of our inner selves, guided by the timeless wisdom of fire and the teachings of Indigenous traditions.

One of the most profound moments of the evening was the 30 minutes we spent in complete silence, sitting with ourselves, the fire, and each other. The flames flickered and danced, serving as a portal to deeper truths. In that stillness, we found space to listen—not just to the crackle of wood or the whispers of nature—but to the voices within us. This simple yet powerful practice reminded us of the ancient knowledge that silence is not empty; it is full of possibilities.

Dr. Tom Pinkson, a transpersonal psychologist, ceremonial leader, and bridge-builder between Indigenous wisdom and modern life, led the evening with grace and insight. Drawing on over 60 years of psychedelic exploration and 11 years of apprenticeship with Huichol shamans, he introduced us to Grandfather Fire Spirit, Tatewarí—a living, conscious presence revered by the Huichol People of Mexico.

Through stories, teachings, and the gentle guidance of the fire, Dr. Pinkson showed us how to create a relationship with this elemental force. We learned that the fire is more than warmth and light; it is a teacher, a communicator, and a source of deep wisdom. For hundreds of thousands of years, Indigenous cultures have sat by the fire, listening with respect and attuning to its messages. On this evening, we had the privilege to step into that ancient tradition.

As we added pieces of wood to the flames, we weren’t just tending the fire—we were tending our souls. Dr. Pinkson encouraged us to “Wake Up, Wise Up,” and polish the stardust within us, embracing the truth of who we are: Sacred, Luminous Beings of Love. Each log we offered symbolized a piece of our own truth, a commitment to heal and shine brightly in our lives and our communities.

The Sacred Fire Ceremony was not merely an event; it was a communion. A time to reconnect with nature, with ourselves, and with each other. We shared our truths, explored the intelligence of the fire, and discovered new ways to align with the Sacred Hoop of Life.

At District216, we believe in creating spaces where transformative experiences like this can thrive. This ceremony is just one example of how we bring ancient wisdom into modern life, offering opportunities to explore the depths of our being and the connections that unite us all.

Whether you’ve joined us before or are curious about stepping into this sacred space, we invite you to be part of the journey. Let’s keep the fire alive—together.

Stay tuned for more upcoming workshops at District216. ✨
